This is probably my least favorite comic drawing-wise, especially the first panel. I'm not very confident in my ability to draw people below the neck, but I usually find a more subtle way to avoid doing it than just displaying a severed head floating in space. And it's not like the face looks good anyway, so I'm not sure what I thought I was getting away with. This is the first comic I inked (the previous is just pencil) so I just accepted that it was okay to look bad.
All the same, I think the joke nearly makes up for it. The punchline is so simple and works so well I felt at first that I must have heard it somewhere else and it had sunk into my subconscious; I was convinced I'd pulled a Ziggy. I Googled dutifully for the original work and found nothing, and I haven't come across anything since, so I figure I'm in the clear.
For all I know I really did rip the joke off, but frankly if that's the case it just makes the whole thing better.
